“Museum in the Village” Nominated for the Public Choice Award The SAMP project
Voting for the Public Choice Award of the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards begins on August 11, and the SAMP project “Museum in the Village” is one of the nominees.
This competition for European public favor features the best projects enhancing and promoting European Cultural Heritage. There are a total of 30 projects from 18 EU countries, including 2 from Portugal.
This is the first time Portugal is represented by a project from Leiria in these Awards, in the category of Citizen Awareness and Engagement. The SAMP project “Museum in the Village” achieved significant recognition by a distinguished and specialized jury, honoring all communities, museums, municipalities, and partners involved, as well as the project team itself. This accomplishment qualifies the project for the “Grand Prize” and the “Public Choice Award.”
We invite the entire community to vote for the Museum in the Village Project and contribute to our potential distinction, this time by all of you!

The application of the Museum in the Village project for the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards sought to achieve recognition for the collaborative network work that the participants from the 26 municipalities have been dedicated to in recent years. This work has been devoted to the elderly communities who have greatly benefited from the valorization of their cultural heritage and traditions that are part of their past, present, and undoubtedly deserve to be part of their future!
